AutoFair Downtown Nashua Music Festival Featuring The Stompers and The Fools

“Thank you, awesome (Stompers) show on Saturday, energy was incredible. First exposure to the Stompers, was at Westfield State Spring Weekends in the early 80's. Also saw them in a road house in the middle of a cornfield in Southwick, MA. Saturday night brought me back but also kicked me back to today. These cats are the most. –  Brian N, July 2013

On Saturday September 13, 2014, the Greater Nashua Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with Community Events LLC, is shutting down Main St. in downtown Nashua and helping you to finish off your summer by presenting The Stompers and The Fools. This final installment of the 3-part outdoor concert series is presented by AutoFair and supported by Bellwether Community Credit Union. Through an exclusive arrangement with Couptopia, a limited quantity of discounted tickets are available for the evening’s show.

The Stompers

The Stompers story begins in the fall of 1977 when friends Sal Baglio and Mark Cuccinello decided to start a band. Since then, the band has played in every college, roadhouse, nightspot and concert hall in New England, consistently packing them in. A tour with the mighty J. Geils Band in the winter of 1980 certainly helped increase the bands popularity by playing in front of 20,000 people a night, something for which the Stompers have always remained grateful. Touring with The Beach Boys was also a most significant co-billing, as Brian Wilson had been one of Baglio's life-long influences.

From 1981 through 1986, readers of The Boston Globe voted The Stompers the Number One Band in New England three times and in the top three the other years. Mind-boggling indeed when you consider the competition of the era, as many locals had already gone on to national success.

The Fools

All entertainers have a gimmick, a shtick, if you will (even if you won't). The object of a Fools show is to blow real life out of all proportion and morph “just another night out to see a band” into the most fun anyone had ever had — anywhere! Meeting with great success, it wasn't long before the lads were masterminding stage trickery, pratfalls, skits, themes, twisted audience participation, practical jokes, paybacks, big nights and even some colossal events.

Record-breaking radio airplay, new videos with heavy MTV play, new releases and constant touring propelled The Fools through the mid-1990's. Now in the new millennium they're at it again. Do not miss an opportunity to experience the spectacle and splendor, the legendary bombast, yes the shock and the awe — The Fools!
