For lunch I've tried the LAAM sandwich which is filled with lots and lots of veggies. Getting a fantastic breakfast or lunch in downtown Manchester isn’t hard to do. The Queen City has a wealth of local establishments that serve high quality food with a smile. We’ve got a deal today with a cozy café which also happens to be a member of a popular family of local eateries.
$5 will get you $10 of food and drink at the Midtown Café at the Beacon. Located on Elm Street in the heart of downtown, this is a great place to get breakfast before work or a day at the beach and lunch before a shopping excursion or an afternoon Fisher Cats game.
The breakfast menu features scrambles on white or wheat wraps and toasty egg sandwiches on bagels with all of your favorite breakfast meats, veggies, and cheeses to choose from. Of course you’ll want to pair this with a hot cup of their Java Tree Coffee, a locally roasted treat.
Their specialty sandwiches, panini, and wraps are cleverly named after local buildings and tenants. Instead of fighting city hall you can eat a City Hall, which is stuffed with diced chicken, apples, walnuts, cheddar and seasoned mayo. Or you can “visit” the Dunlap with its fresh, roasted turkey, mozzarella, roasted red peppers, baby spinach and seasoned mayo. Classic architecture never tasted so good!
The Midtown Café also has a healthy roster of “Back to the Basics” sandwiches – BLTs, egg salad, grilled cheese, chicken salad and more – all available with veggie toppings, bacon, and cheeses.
